- VEGETABLES -
We take orders for produce boxes each week via the secure purchase page on our website, which is updated with pricing and availability when we send our weekly email notification. Orders are accepted up to the start of harvest on mid-day Wednesday or until we are sold out for that week. Online payment is required at the time of your order, and boxes are delivered on Thursday. The weekly price varies according to the size and contents of the box.
Our shares include a variety of vegetables, herbs, and fruit (when available) from May through October, sometimes earlier and/or later depending on the weather each season. We begin seedlings indoors under lights in late winter, transitioning to a small handcrafted greenhouse and rows under low hoops, then gradually transplanting and direct seeding into an acre of permanent beds, as weather and varietal hardiness permit. This cycle continues as mature crops are harvested and beds are replanted with new successional crops until the end of the season.
Here are some of the items we tend to grow, with approximate harvest seasons. Looking at this list, you'll notice that we tend to start slower in the spring and finish with much larger boxes by summer and fall. Production can vary considerably from week to week, month to month, and year to year, especially for heat-loving crops. We also run trials of new varieties each year, so if there is something you don't see that you would like us to grow, please contact us and we'll see if we can fit it into our rotations.
